Chef Franco has Heart for Haiti!

On Tuesday, 26 January 2010, Italian Chef, Franco Bucci, gave a cooking demonstration for 13 lucky International Cooking Ladies at the home of Mari van der Fluit.  Franco and his assistant chef, Giampiero, amazed the group with their delicious menu:  Fagottini di melanzane e mozzarella di bufala, Tagliolini al limone and Tagliata di manzo con rucola e grana.  We never made it to desert, Tortine golose, but have been promised 2 deserts at the next event!

Franco Bucci and his family are new to the European School in Bergen.  He and his wife, Barbara, bought a restaurant in Hoorn.  Luna Rossa, Rode Steen 3 in Hoorn, will open its doors on March 1.

Luckily for us, Franco and Giampiero thought that cooking with the International Cooking Ladies was a treat.  So much so, that they are going to do a repeat performance next week at Franco’s restaurant.  Eager to attend?  Just email mari_vanderfluit@hotmail.com for details.

Franco volunteered his time and 259,80 € were raised for the Heart for Haiti fund!

The cookie factory, “De Aviateur,” donated cases of cookies for the Heart for Haiti cause!  Those interested children in P3N started their cookie sales on Monday, 25 January.  The children “hit the streets” with smiles on their faces and a story to tell people about their fundraising efforts for Haiti.  We are grateful to both “De Aviateur” and to the children for their generosity and dedication.

Send us your pictures and we’ll post them on our site.

Here is a picture of one P3Ner:  Louise Zonneveld.

Look to the Dutch portion of this site for her own story.
